Huawei has decided to postpone the launch of Mate X , its first folding-screen smartphone. Initially scheduled for June, marketing is now scheduled for September. "We do not want to launch a product that will destroy our reputation," said a company spokesperson at CNBC . Huawei has chosen to continue extensive testing after the problems encountered by Samsung with some copies on loan. The Korean firm has suspended the launch of the Galaxy Fold and has not yet set a new date.

The postponement of the release of the Mate X is only the last pitfall of a long series for Huawei , the world's leading telecom equipment supplier and number two of the phone manufacturers. In May, the United States placed the Chinese company on its blacklist and President Donald Trump signed a decree banning all trade with it for reasons of national security.

Huawei confirms Android on the Mate X

As a result, some US tech companies have broken off their trading relationship with Huawei. Google in particular withdrew its Android license to the manufacturer who is no longer allowed to use the OS for its future smartphones. Nevertheless, Huawei's representative who responded to CNBC said that Mate X will be able to use Android since it was announced before the Trump administration's decree.
