Samsung plans to show off its Galaxy Note 10 at an Unpacked event on August 7th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.  This is the same place that the South Korean technology giant launched the Galaxy Note 9 last year.

The Note range does not sell as well as the Galaxy S , but the big-screen phablet has big fans. Launched in 2011, the first Galaxy Note initiated the trend of XL displays on phones that has since become the norm in the mobile industry. The screen size of the first Note (5.3 inches) now looks almost small compared to the 6.4 inches of Note 9 and the 6.5 inch screen of the iPhone Xs Max .

The launch of Note 10 comes as Samsung and its competitors face a sluggish smartphone market. The prices of the latest models are increasing, but the characteristics do not change much from one generation to the next. In addition, users keep their phones longer than before. The arrival of 5G and new designs like foldable screen phones could revitalize the mobile industry.

Samsung's answer was the Galaxy Fold , a foldable screen smartphone that turns into a tablet. Its launch was originally scheduled for April 26, but it was delayed due to malfunctions encountered on some copies entrusted to the US press. No new launch date has been announced yet.
