The Post-Matric scholarship scheme is one of the front-running minority scholarship schemes of the Ministry of Minority Affairs. It was launched in 2006 under the Prime Minister’s 15 point programme for the development of the minorities.

The aim of the Post –Matric scholarship scheme is to increase the enrollment ratio of the minority students in the higher education. This scheme supports meritorious students of the minority community to pursue their studies after matriculation and get admission in the higher secondary, Graduation and Post-graduation studies.

Minority Communities Covered Under the Pre-matric & Post-Matric 2018-2019 Scholarship-Moma Scholarship:

Christian, Parsi, Zoroastrian, Muslim, Buddhist, and Jain.

Educational Institutions Covered Under the Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme 2018-2019:

  1. Be it government or private school/ college/ institutions or universities.
  2. Even the residential government colleges are covered under this scholarship scheme.
  3. The private educational college/ institution should be notified/ recognized by the government of India.
  4. Be it vocational/ general/ professional courses.

Scholarship Amount of the Post-Matric Scholarship 2018-2019:


It is a fully-funded scholarship programme. Students receive admission fee, tuition fee, and maintenance allowance during the complete duration of their studies.

1: Scholarship for students of Class 11th and Class 12th


  • Admission Fee and Tuition (for both Hostellers and Day Scholars) - ₹ 7,000 annually.

  • Maintenance Allowance

  • For Hostellers – ₹ 380 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually. For Day Scholars – ₹ 230 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually.
2: Scholarship for Vocational/ Technical Courses on the Higher Secondary level 



  • Admission Fee and Tuition (for both Hostellers and Day Scholars) - ₹ 10,000 annually.

  • Maintenance Allowances –

  • For Hostellers- ₹ 380 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually
  • For Day Scholars - ₹ 230 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually.
3: Scholarship for students of Graduation and Post –Graduation



  • Admission Fee and Tuition (for both Hostellers and Day Scholars) - ₹ 3,000 annually.

  • Maintenance Allowance

  • For Hostellers – ₹ 570 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually.
  • For Day Scholars - ₹ 300 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually
4: Scholarship for students of Ph. D and M. Phil
  • Maintenance Allowance

      • For Hostellers – ₹ 1200 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually.

      • For Day Scholars - ₹ 550 on the monthly basis for 10 months annually.

Eligibility for the Post- Matric Scholarship 2017 – 2018:
    • Applicant should have a minimum aggregate score of 50% marks in the last exam to become eligible for this scholarship.
    • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹2.00 lakhs.

    Application Process To Apply For government scholarship 2018:

    • Interested students can apply for the Pre-matric & Post-Matric scholarship online through the NSP (National Scholarship Portal of the Government of India).

    • Before filling the application form for the scholarship, a student should read all instructions and conditions of the scholarship carefully.
    • They should fill all the specified columns of the scholarship.
    • They should upload the scanned copies of the following documents along with their application – form –
    • Institution/ College/ School Verification Form
    • Photograph of the Student
    • Fresh applicants should submit Self Attested copies of the certificates of the previous academic mark sheets
    • Family annual Income Certificate
    • Self – attested copies of the Community Certificate
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Address Proof
    • Copies of the fee-receipts of the current year course
    • Self-Attested Certificates of the Previous Year Marksheet as filled in the Form
